FIrst of all.....I am not wrong
Just because Teegarden was hitting .212 doesn't mean he wasn't a starter.....he started 21 of 22 games. That is a starter (and was starting for a reason)....as for ACC is tougher, of course it is, but Teegarden was actually 7 for 21 in ACC play including a stellar series against FSU.......that is much better than .212. Secondly Menken started when healthy.....he was hurt to start the year (and missed games) before his season ending injury. Started 7 of 12 games and was the set starter in CF for the year.
They are most definitely down four starters.....and I never said others didn't play hurt last year......the three you mentioned still produced and had pretty good offensive years. That is still much better than being completely out, even if not 100%. I was simply addressing the issue of why there was a tiny disparity in batting averages from one year to the next.......
You are fixated on the walks issue (nobody wants that) and ignoring several other indicators of better pitching....I never said things were perfect.....I believe the 7 pitchers that pitched on the staff last year all have improved ERA's, most of them significantly better. The batting average is down from .287 to .238. Strikeouts are already up with three games to go......WHIP is down from 1.59 to 1.44
I also don't need to research Szefc's press conferences....I appreciated your research and thanked you accordingly.
